Junior Content Writer - French Speaker

Does gripping narrative flow freely from your pen (or keyboard)? Can you create compelling content on command? We’re looking for a gifted writer who can produce audience-targeted articles for Room5 (http://room5.trivago.fr/), our France-focused online magazine. If you can bring a creative approach and adaptable work style, we’d like to hear from you.

What you'll do:

  • Use content gathered by our collection team to create engaging, SEO-friendly, high-quality articles while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Edit the work provided to us by third parties; proofread and critically appraise your fellow writers’ pieces to ensure that they are well-targeted and meet our high standards.
  • Delve into analytics to assess the performance of the articles your team produces.
  • Use the knowledge you gain about what performs well in order to optimize future articles and rewrite old ones.
  • Moderate comments and discussion on our platform's blog.

What you'll need:

  • Native-level French and fluency in English (our company language).
  • 1-2 years' experience in creative writing or copywriting. Please include a portfolio containing your work with your application.
  • Some previous experience working in communication, journalism or social media.
  • A bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or a field in which there is a heavy emphasis on writing.
  • Superb writing skills and the ability to creatively adapt your language to various audiences as you create content that grips readers and leaves them wanting more.
  • An exceptional eye for detail and a thorough knowledge of the technical and stylistic aspects of French, making you a fantastic editor and proofreader.
  • A good understanding of content management systems (e.g. WordPress).
  • At least a basic knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Creativity coupled with a curiosity that leads you to approach tasks in a novel way, rather than simply copying established processes.

Instead of writing a motivation letter, we would like to ask you to answer the following four questions and upload them as pdf file with your CV. Please answer all questions in English and make sure to stick to the provided word limit.
